Are you ready to challenge the idea of “work, work, work…” and rethink youth employment in Europe? Join us in Luxembourg for an international Erasmus+ youth exchange exploring youth unemployment, alternative pathways to employment, and how non-formal learning can boost your career.

“Work or Workless” is a youth exchange that will take place in Kayl, Luxembourg, bringing together young people from Germany, Spain, Croatia, and Luxembourg. Hosted by Jugendtreff Käl/Téiteng, this exchange will focus on the challenges of youth unemployment in Europe, the value of non-formal education, and how young people can transform their skills into meaningful career opportunities.
This youth exchange will allow you to reflect on your future, explore alternative paths to employment, and take part in interactive workshops and group discussions focused on finding practical solutions to a common European problem.
Through non-formal education, hands-on activities, and intercultural exchange, you will:

Explore the causes of youth unemployment and potential ways to prevent it

Recognize voluntary work and non-formal education as valuable learning experiences

Learn how to turn your skills and interests into career opportunities

Discover different employment options available in Europe
The goals of the project are:

Raise awareness about youth unemployment and employment strategies

Empower participants to transform personal interests into professional direction
- Improve employability and career outlook through new perspectives and skills
All accommodation and food costs are covered by the Erasmus+ program. Travel costs will be reimbursed up to a certain amount (based on the travel distance between your hometown and project venue, and according to Erasmus+ rules).
We charge a participation fee of €50!

Accommodation
The exchange will take place at the Scout’s Chalet in Kayl, Luxembourg.
Participants will stay in shared rooms and are expected to contribute to the upkeep of the venue. Meals will be provided on-site, and the project will follow green event practices—no printed materials will be used, so please bring your own digital device to record information.
You can apply below if:
- You are a resident of Germany
- You are 18–30 years old
- You are interested in the topics of employment, youth issues, and intercultural learning
- You are willing to be a part of a multicultural group
- Are motivated to give your best when speaking English, you do not have to be fluent!
