Lili in Bremen // Final Report

When comparing my first report with my last one, I realize that I came here with expectations that I did not fully understand at the beginning. Maybe it was because of my excitement, but in the end, everything turned a bit bitter.

When Sandra and Princess left, it affected me deeply because they played a big part in my overall well-being. We had those typical gatherings that you would expect among volunteering friends. During their last days, I spent time in Schwarzer Weg like a flatmate. I am happy to leave now, but I know I will miss some of the girls who are still staying in Bremen or in Germany. In Budapest, some of my friends are abroad, so I will mostly be surrounded by my family. I know that some of my friends, if they would visit me in my home city, we would have a lot of fun again.

It is crazy to think that this was a 10-month experience because the last five months felt very slow. It felt like forever. Even so, I hope that some of my friends had a good time with me and shared a lot of laughs. I was not feeling well for some time. Hopefully, next time I can fulfill my own expectations. I might just need a bit more luck or time, who knows.

Last but not least, I hope that my successor in this position will also be Hungarian, because Hungarian culture and personality deserve to be represented more and shared with others. Not many international people can say that they have had a Hungarian flatmate, friend, co-worker, or acquaintance.
