Are you curious about how digital technology shapes who you are, how you connect with others, and how you see the world? Join this Erasmus+ Youth Exchange and explore digital wellbeing, media literacy and online inclusion together with young people from across Europe.
Dates: 4-13. July 2026
Place: Osterholz-Scharmbeck (near Bremen), Germany
Deadline: 7.06.2026
Open Horizons is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange organised by NaturKultur e.V. (Germany) that will bring together 37 young people and group leaders from 6 countries: Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, and Serbia.
Over 8 programme days, participants will dig into the opportunities and risks of living constantly connected — from social media algorithms and misinformation to cyberbullying, comparison culture, online hate speech and digital burnout. Using experiential workshops, creative labs and guided reflection, the group will examine these topics through a human-rights and anti-discrimination lens, paying special attention to how sexism, homophobia, transphobia, racism and xenophobia play out in digital spaces — and how young people can challenge them.
What Will You Do?
- Explore how algorithms, data and social media shape your identity and relationships
- Build skills to identify misinformation and bias targeting marginalised communities
- Discuss online hate speech and discrimination through an intersectional perspective
- Develop personal strategies for digital wellbeing and emotional resilience
- Connect with young people from across Europe through intercultural evening activities
- Plan a local dissemination action to bring your learnings back home
Accommodation & Food
Accommodation and all meals are fully covered by the Erasmus+ programme. Travel costs are reimbursed according to Erasmus+ rules.
The setting makes it special: the venue is a group house surrounded by forest in the quiet village of Garlstedt. The group house (KulturHaus) is a simple and cosy venue where participants share rooms with 3–4 people of the same gender from different nationalities. There is a dedicated cooking team on site — vegetarian and other dietary preferences can be accommodated. Please note that halal and fruitarian diets cannot be catered for.
