Joséphine in Bremen // 2nd Report

Hey ! Welcome to my second report !!

I must say that I felt a little bit embarrassed when I read the others ‘reports because what I’ve seen was beautiful and everybody was talking about how they felt during the arrival months and explaining it with deep and complex emotions, and in comparisons my first report seems like an advertisement for the farm. So my first advice on this report is, don’t read the first one.

Then, because I feel now more comfortable about sharing my emotions, I will do a brief recap of these last months.

Overall life has been really great, “krass” as they would say here. My previous roommate left almost…. two months ago now (where the hell all of this time have been…..) and for one month I was the only one living in the apartment. I must say that the farm at night, alone, is kind of scary, I mean..could be. That’s for sure a situation that stimulates my paranoia and irrational fear… But don’t worry I made it, and that’s my point, because a actual lot of people have been visiting. During this month where I could’ve been alone, I’ve never felt more surrounded.

I’ve been to Rhododendrons Park with my mom, to Denmark with a very close friend and rode though the Blocklands with my best friend, in addition of doing the exact same city tour three times…

Then my new roommate arrived, I went to Weimar for the second seminar and met there a really cool girl that I’ve been…lettering now (entering my epistolary era), my lover came to visit, we did a lot of stuff (especially playing it takes two and animal crossing together) and now I can finally, hopefully take a break from people.

That’s actually the perfect transition to give you a bit of news of the farm. So lately we have had a lot of new souls joining around here. The first ones to freshly arrive were the ducklings in the beginning of May. We received some duck’s eggs (Laufenten, if you want to check the exact specie) and we watched them do….nothing for weeks. Or this is what you could’ve think just by looking qt the egg, but deep inside, life was growing. You could see this with a flashlight directly put on the egg shell (see picture). After some time, they finally hatched and came out, the most precious and beautiful little ducklings. They grew so fast and they are now entering the teenage phase where they are losing the ducklings ‘feathers to grow their majestic grown-ups’ feathers (for the moment they are really ugly in the transition phase though). We haven’t named them yet, so if have any suggestion….

Then two weeks ago, moved in with us, Mietze, the cat. He’s a very lovely and tender cat, who loves to cuddle (according to his previous owner that’s surprising because he tended to be more of a wild cat, but who knows maybe the farm made him softer…?). We had some funny moments with him like removing his GIGANTIC ticks or a giggly worm out of his….

But he’s paying back with cuddles so we are very pleased!

And the last ones to arrive at the farm are the goats!! They actually arrived two days ago, in the moment I’m writing this. There isn’t much to say about them now but yesterday I went to them and they ate banana out of my hand. That’s pretty crazy to see how tiny they are (only 3 months old) and I can’t wait to see them grow more and more!

Alright I think it’s time that I put a conclusion to this 2nd report. In the end I didn’t really share any deep emotion but eumh…. Yeah, life has been really good with me. I will take this expression from a friend of mine and say that life feels like honey.

I still can’t wait to go back home, but everything that I live there, I’ll take with me to make it live somewhere else.

Also, second advice, if you know enough German, read missy magazine, it’s a really damn good magazine!!

See you later 🙂
