Dolores in Zagreb, Croatia // 2nd Report

Reflecting on October and the On-Arrival Training

Hello everyone ๐Ÿ˜€

I have had 2 German Language classes so far and I was so nervous to teach but I had a really positive experience and now look forward to them. My class is very active and excited to learn German ๐Ÿ™‚

The big event this month was the On-Arrival Training in Osijek and let me tell you it was great.

We were 16 participants and surprisingly a lot of them came from Zagreb like us, so now we see each other more often or go to their city to visit and travel throug Croatia.

We learned so many things about the European Solidarity Corps and how important our role as Volunteers is. We learned about our rights and about the Hierarchy of the Organizations to the European Union. We also learned about needs analysis and exploring community needs. And one day they organized a list of tasks that we had to complete in 80 min and it really was a group building experience and overall it was a lot of fun and very educational and we once again were able to make more friends ๐Ÿ™‚

After we came back from Osijek our volunteering tasks in Zagreb continued.

We took promotional photos of the classes that Amazonas offers and on Halloween Mathilde and I hosted an intercultural evening about the France-German Relationship. It was very exciting and overall we are very happy with how the evening turned out to be ๐Ÿ™‚

We also had our first Croatian language lesson and we learned about the alphabet and pronunciation of the Croatian language.

This month Francesco and Eduardo will host their intercultural evening and we all have our language classes to teach and I am sure that there will be more tasks waiting for us but Iโ€™ll tell you about that in the next month.

And that is all for the month of October, see you Guys next month ๐Ÿ™‚
