Do you want to swap your screen for a campfire, try new outdoor activities, and connect with young people from across Europe — all while sleeping under the stars? Join this Erasmus+ camping Youth Exchange and rediscover the world outside.
Dates: 17–26 July 2026 (10 days including travel)
Location: Berne, Germany
Deadline: 03.07.2026
About the Project
Trailblazers: Learning Through Nature is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange that brings together 42 young people from 7 countries: Portugal, Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Spain, North Macedonia, and Germany.
This is NaturKultur’s annual camping exchange — a chance to take non-formal education fully outdoors. For 10 days, participants will live together at a campsite by the river Weser, take part in hands-on outdoor activities, reflect on their relationship with nature, and learn about each other’s cultures. No conference rooms, no projectors — just fresh air, a big group tent, and real conversations.
The exchange brings together people who are passionate campers and people who have never slept in a tent before. That mix is part of the point: sharing different perspectives on the outdoors is at the heart of what makes this experience unique.
What Will You Do?
- Take part in fun outdoor and physical activities — from hiking to team challenges to swimming
- Explore the importance of nature for human wellbeing and for the planet
- Discover how being active outdoors can boost your physical and mental health
- Connect with young people from 7 different countries through intercultural evenings, shared meals and group activities
- Prepare and lead a national evening where your group shares food, stories and traditions from your country — creativity is key!
- Plan a local dissemination action to bring your experience back to your community
Accommodation & Food
The exchange takes place at Camping Platzt Juliusplate , a beautiful campsite right by the water in the village of Berne. Participants sleep in tents (1–2 people per tent, same gender), with tents and mattresses provided. Please bring your own sleeping bag, pillow and towel.
All meals are prepared by a dedicated cooking team and are fully covered by the Erasmus+ programme. Vegetarian and other dietary preferences can be accommodated. Please note that halal and fruitarian diets cannot be catered for.
The campsite is in a remote area — no cafes, restaurants or supermarkets nearby. That’s exactly what makes it special: the whole group is fully present with each other throughout the programme.
Travel costs are reimbursed according to Erasmus+ rules (keep all tickets, boarding passes and invoices).
