Kunst und kreativer Dialog vor Ort – Wir gestalten Garlstedt (und Umgebung)

Would you like to try your hand at art? Are you interested in theatre, rap, graffiti, visual arts or dance? Then take a look at our workshop offers from May to August in the Osterholz-Scharmbeck area.

Through our project “Art and Creative Dialogue on Site” we want to bring young people together, discuss and engage with art together. The workshops are for children and young people between the ages of 12 and 22. They are all free of charge. However, registration is required at: [email protected]

The workshops are funded by the MITEINANDER REDEN programme of the Federal Agency for Civic Education. It takes place with the support of the Arbeitskreis deutscher Bildungsstätten (AdB), the Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund (DStGb), the Deutsche Vernetzungsstelle Ländliche Räume (DVS) and the Deutscher Volkshochschulverband and is realised by the education agency labconcepts as programme office. With MITEINANDER REDEN “Leading controversies – building trust”, the programme has launched an additional round; this is part of the action plan against right-wing extremism and is funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home Affairs as part of the federal programme “Zusammenhalt durch Teilhabe” (ZdT).


1. ART WORKSHOP – Local Art Actions – How can I creatively shape my environment? For this workshop we have invited a local artist. The aim is to look at how one’s own place of residence, one’s own community, one’s own environment can be artistically embellished and designed. In Garlstedt, we want to design the place for joint meetings and create small installations there. The workshop is suitable for all children and young people who enjoy designing, painting and handicrafts.

1. RAP WORKSHOP – Through a “Spoken Word” and “Rap” workshop we want to deal with our own prejudices and stereotypes and reflect on how to overcome them. The result of the workshop will be own texts and rap songs on the topic of stereotypes and prejudices, written by the participants themselves. The workshop is for ages 12 and up.

2. GRAFITTI-WORKSHOP – Would you like to try out graffiti? Thinking up “TAGS” and putting them into practice? In the graffiti workshop we will deal with the question “How can we design our environment? On the one hand, we will develop our own designs and then spray graffiti together in Garlstedt on the second day. The workshop is open to all children, youths and young adults between the ages of 12 and 22.

The workshop leader Laszlo Monse is 33 years old, has studied art therapy and has been working in this field for several years. He has been a passionate graffiti artist since his youth and is involved with various forms of street art.

4. THEATRE WORKSHOP – How do we debate? – The theatre workshop is about getting to know Forum Theatre, which is a participatory theatre format based on audience interaction and participation. Based on the topics and ideas from the other workshops, concrete issues that are present in Garlstedt are discussed and acted out here in order to offer suggestions for solutions. The workshop will be held for the 9th classes of the secondary school.

5. DANCE WORKSHOP – Are you interested in different forms of dance? Would you like to create your own choreographies and spend a weekend dancing? Then come to our dance workshop in Garlstedt. We want to try out a mix of dances from hip-hop to improvisation to contemporary dance and then develop our own choreographies. YOU decide what, how and where to dance!

6. THEATRE WORKSHOP – Fake News – Who should we still believe? – The workshop is about getting a better understanding of the media landscape and Fake News. By using the political theatre form of newspaper theatre, different media can be analysed, reflected and examined together in an interactive form through theatre play and audience discussion. At the same time, playing theatre together and having fun together should not be neglected.
