Dublin III, UNHCR, Refugees, Migrants – what’s behind those terms? On this training course, you can update your knowledge of terminology, regulations and institutions and equip yourself with new ideas and practises for youth work!

Dates: 16 – 24 November, 2019

Location: Caserta, Italy

The training course “Youth Work for Equality and Unity” aims to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time: the inclusion of migrants and refugees across European countries. Many NGOs that work with youngsters and want to deal with themes like human rights and migration do not actually have the expertise, in terms of knowledge and human resources, to do so properly. This project is therefore designed for youth workers , young leaders, volunteers or simply humanitarian individuals who have special interest in human rights and social inclusion, and/or are involved with migrants or refugees in their Countries, and have intention to use their competencies to be more involved in their communities, fighting discrimination and radicalization.

The Objectives of this Training Course are therefore:

  • To work on common and shared definitions within the field of human rights and migration, learn more about the proper terminology, the relevant documents and institutions
  • To analyze the different perspectives on HR and migration, taking into account the specific conditions of each context within the participating nations
  • To tackle exclusion, discrimination, xenophobia and radicalization, promoting diversity and fostering social inclusion, mostly of vulnerable groups
  • To give youth workers the chance to experience different NFE approaches, methods and tools in order to encourage active youth participation in their local contexts in respect of human rights and integration of migrants/refugees
  • Expand the network amongst participants and partner NGOs to foster the exchange of good practices

As part of an international team with participants coming from Italy, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Republic of North Macedonia, Sweden, Turkey, the UK und Germany, you will be encouraged to share experiences and take initiative.
